About Seismograph
Seismograph is a public record of crypto market shocks. It logs each one as an event with a time, a value, its sources and a magnitude on one scale, so that a crash, a cascade or a large liquidation can be looked up, compared and cited.
Who runs it
Seismograph is run by Cryptograph Club. Write to contact@cryptograph.club about the site, its data or a possible error.
Cryptograph Club is not affiliated with any of the venues, chains or tokens the site records, and is paid by none of them.
What it records
Today the site records liquidations on on-chain lending and perpetual venues: Aave, Spark, Compound, Morpho, Sky and GMX, on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base. Each liquidation is read from the blockchain itself, valued in USD with on-chain prices from the same block, and counted in 5-minute totals. A burst of liquidations far above the usual level becomes a liquidation wave; a single large one becomes a position event.
Centralized exchanges, Hyperliquid, exchange outages, hacks and stablecoin depegs are planned. Until they are covered, an on-chain magnitude describes only the on-chain part of a market move.
How every number is made is on the methodology page, and the scale on the magnitude page.
What it does not do
- It states facts: what happened, where, when and how much. It gives no signals, forecasts, trading ideas or advice.
- It does not show, search or follow wallet addresses. Event pages link the transactions on the chain's block explorer, where anyone can check them.
- It sells nothing that is traded, holds no one's funds and has no accounts.
Using the data
You may quote figures, magnitudes and charts with a link to the page they come from and the credit "Seismograph by Cryptograph Club". The terms say what else is allowed, and that the magnitudes and totals may not be used in financial products or as a benchmark. Mistakes are fixed in the open: see corrections.
